The MXT Edge by Jeff Foster
I just got done reading this very comprehensive book. It needs to be “bitten off” in pieces as it reads like a math or science text book. Pretty soon you’re reading the same sentence over and over trying to figure out what he’s saying. That’s the time you should put the book away and pick it up another day.

Besides explaining how and why everything works, it gives some hints of how to tweak your machine. There is an example of how to set it up like the coin mode of an XLT or DFX. How to “cherry pick” an area for copper and silver coins. How to tell the difference between a quarter and a bottle cap. How to “notch out” pull tabs and still find small gold rings and nickels. How to hunt in highly mineralized or alkali areas such as the wet sand on the beach. The fact that dry sand has little to no mineralization what so ever. And much, much more like bench tests and coil ratings.

All in all, I think it’s mandatory reading for any one that owns a Whites MXT metal detector. The information gleaned will increase your monthly finds!
