I was just researching the the park for the Saturday hunt and came upon a city ordinace, http://www.yucaipa.org/aboutyucaipa/Parks/YMC12.04.pdf, specifically section 12.04.160 Damaging property and land prohibited. No person shall cut, break, injure, deface or disturb any tree, shrub, plant, rock, building, cage, pen, monument, fence, bench or other structure, apparatus or property; pluck, pull up, cut, take or remove any shrub, bush, plant or flower; make or write upon, paint or deface in any manner any building, monument, fence, bench or other structure in a park. No person shall cut or remove any wood, turf, grass, soil, rock, sand, gravel or fertilizer in a park. Does the affect our hunt this Saturday? |

Richard: I think, if one fills their holes properly, there should be no problem! You're not removing grass, or dirt, if you putting it back! I have hunted the ampetheather section of the park, more than once, and nothing ever happened to me! I've never even seen the rules you have mentioned, posted in the park itself! 98% of the code listed, doesn't even apply to us, then it is questionable, if you properly fill in your holes! Tell them, we're helping to beautify the park, by removing all trash, of bottlecaps, pull tabs, razor blades, etc, that would sour the park's image, and harm people! There are two ways you can look at it also! We are not there to remove, or damage any PARK item itself, we are there to only remove "lost PERSONAL" items, which do not belong to the park! Again, I have never been approached while hunting in the ampetheater section of the park! |

Thanks Bob, I was just being cautious. Hope to be there if the weather permits. Are there any old parks or place nearby that might produce good finds? I heard that "A" street was probaly the old main street. |

Richard: The oldest area of Yucaipa, downtown, or I should say, georgraphically, uptown, is at Yucaipa Blvd, and California Street, for about 2 blocks South! Not much there! Small old downtown! but there is a Wide'err old residential~ There, you have to drive around, till something that tickles your fancy!
Good Luck!
Bob
