We'll be heading out to the Amboy members-only club hunt on 11/7-8.  Since we do not have an RV and rental is way too expensive, we decided to stay at a nearby motel.  I've been asked to share information about that motel in case anyone else wants to do the same.  Note that you need to contact the adjacent Chevron station to make reservations, not the phone number that pops up from a Google search.

The Chevron station is open 24 hours and has a mini-mart (I'm assuming the mart is open all night as well).  The nearby cafe is open from 6 am to 6 or 7 pm (depending on how busy it is).  All rooms are smoking.  Our rate was about $53/night for two adults and a child.  Ludlow is about 30 mi and 45 minutes from Amboy, but still closer than 29 Palms or Barstow.
